This year's USC Canada World Food Day forum, From Field to Fork: Building a Better Food System is a free public event on Thursday, October 13 at 7PM at St. Paul's University and will illustrate the spirit and depth of a strengthening local food system with three dynamic local-food leaders.

To celebrate Organic Week, Growing Up Organic, a project of Canadian Organic Growers Ottawa Chapter, is partnering with local schools. Throughout the week a group of students will be attending a farm field trip where students will have an opportunity to meet a local organic farmer, learn about organic farming practices and get their hands dirty working and harvesting organic foods! Additionally, Growing Up Organic will continue it's regular work throughout the week presenting a number of garden-based workshops with our now 22 Schoolyard Vegetable Gardens, teaching kids about where their food comes from and how deliciously rewarding backyard gardening can be.
